„Thornton Academy is a co-educational boarding and day school serving students in grades 6-12. Thornton Academy offers a wide academic program, including 200+ classes, 25 AP courses, 6 world languages, 30+ arts courses (including orchestra, theatre, and a 4-year dance program. Our broad extracurricular (40+ clubs) and athletic (50+ sports teams) programs allow students to be who they are. Thornton Academy graduates matriculate at top US and international universities, as well as a wide range of specialty arts, engineering, and other types of schools. Our emphasis on preparing for university and beyond encourages our students to become who they want to be. Thornton Academy has an excellent location, only 90 minutes from Boston, 15 minutes from Portland, Maine, and 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Within a 10 minute walk of campus is a Starbucks, cafes & restaurants, shopping, grocery store, and a train direct to Boston. Our boarding program features students from 30+ countries each year. Students live in our 4 modern dormitories (2 students per room) and are supported by our experienced and caring dorm families, all of whom have a teaching faculty in the family. Thornton Academy also offers a homestay program. We also offer a wide array of additional programming including Summer at Thornton Academy, international partnerships, and online learning.”
